Varicose veins in pregnancy

During pregnancy, there may be serious venous circulation disorders in lower limbs. Ankle edema appears in 50 per cent of women, and varicose veins in ca. 30 per cent. Varicose veins appearing during pregnancy not only mar the legs, but also cause discomfort — legs are itching, aching, and in some instances may even lead to venous thrombosis.
